Your Thailand Travel Guide 🇹🇭🐘

We have made it to the third and  final stop of SE Asia Travel Journal. 3 weeks in each of these beautiful countries and our final stop has come around. I hope you have enjoyed Bali and Vietnam and are excited for me to sell you the Thai dream. Nearly a year and a half later and I still dream about the Thai green curry and pad Thai we had on our travels. Thailand was different in many ways to each of the countries and I enjoyed it just as much. We visited here between 23rd November and 14th December, the only thing that let us down was the weather especially when visiting the islands (but this to be expected in SE Asia).  Chiang Mai Elephant Home Stop 1 - Chiang Mai🐘 Home to the most precious animal in the world, elephants… This is by far one of the best experiences in my whole life. You even have the option to stay at an elephant sanctuary and be woke up at your room by them… (not within our budget) but we loved evert minute from making their food, giving them a mud bath, b...

The Bali Diary🌴

Touch down in Denspar International Airport after nearly 24 hours of travel from Dublin. An emotional, apprehensive yet such an exciting journey. Dublin – Doha – Kuala Lumpur – Bali. Bali Indonesia is that destination that seems to have been plucked from the pages of a fairy tale. The views, vibrant cultures and warm, friendly hospitality is really like no other country. From the serene beaches to mystical temples, Bali offers an experience for every single person.

✨Must know before visiting Bali

1. Cheap eating - In Indonesian Rupiah 19,785.82 is 1 GBP meaning on average a meal is less than £3
2. To avoid Bali belly only ever drink bottled water
3. Pack smart for all weather’s experienced
4. Get around like a local and use Gojek (difficult if you have a suitcase – would recommend a backpack) 5. Delve into local culture and respect the local culture of ‘good karma’
6. Get the correct visa

✨My top 3 picks in Bali

1. Canggu
2. Ubud
3. Gili Trawangan (Gili T)

🐬Canggu is a vibrant coastal village that effortlessly blends laid-back charm with modern sophistication. The trendy hotspot for all travellers. I can vouch for this as we spent a total of 11 nights in various parts of Canggu. I can recommend this as my favourite place. The best place to let you feel like you are living in Bali instead of travelling. The accommodation is luxurious, homely and with a fantastic location and convenient for travellers. With lots of bars, contemporary eating places, beaches (Batu Bolong Beach), beach clubs,  early rise swim with dolphins, surf, shopping and local markets, gym, and classes (Pilates, yoga, mediation).

🌴Ubud is renowned as the islands cultural heart, it exudes an enchanting charm that attracts travellers seeking a deeper connection with nature and art. A beautiful place to rest and recuperate but also explore the nature, rice fields and palm trees. We stayed for 3 nights in a local hostel where we meet other travellers. I recommend spending between 3-4 nights in Ubud. There is opportunity to create handmade jewellery while embracing the tranquil life lead my Balinese people. Whether you choose to visit Hot springs, ATV quad biking, visit the memorable sacred monkey forest or visit the Jungle swing (an amazing photo opportunity) or explore the beautiful scenery of rice fields on a swing, Ubud is your go to jungle escape.

🚲Gili Trawangan, commonly referred to as Gili T, is a slice of paradise nestled off the northwest coast of Lombok, near Bali. This idyllic island is renowned for its powdery white beaches, crystalline turquoise water, and laid-back atmosphere, making it a favourite destination for travellers seeking relaxation and adventure. There are no motorised vehicles are allowed on the island the only option is bicycles or horse and cart (& the obvious walking) it is the perfect place to allow your mind to get lost in the peaceful views. We stayed for 3 nights which was the ideal amount. Hostels, hotels, bars and boujee cafes add to the relaxed vibes of this island alongside the boat trips and snorkelling that is also offered.

The best time to visit Bali is between April and October during the dry season. However, the only downside to guaranteed sunshine is that flights are going to be more expensive. We visited Bali from the 13th October to the 2nd November. We experienced every type of weather from sunshine, thunder, and rain so I would recommend going during assured sunshine to enjoy and see the wonderful views of Bali in the sunlight.
